January 2009 -- Middletown Historical Society News & HoursThis month we start our regular opening hours: 1st Saturday of each month from 9am until noon & 3rd Wednesday of each month from 1pm to 4pm. We are always open by appointment by calling Alison or Dave Matsen at 378-8265 or 740-5544. Come see the current display downstairs on "Middletonians Go to School: A History of Educating the Local Populace". It opened on November 22nd and was well received. Entrance is free.
We had several guest speakers this autumn at out monthly meetings and ended 2008 with a fun tour of the Historic Odessa Foundation's yuletide display in December. The board of directors has been meeting regularly and will meet again in February. The next regular meeing of the membership will be on Tuesday, February 17th at 7:30pm in the Academy building at 216 North Broad Street. The public is welcome to attend. There is plenty of parking behind the building.
